Young Monday // ZAÏRE

Young Monday is the alias for Strathcona photographer Ian Lanterman. He is set to release and ep on With Us Records. A definite check out!

which he creates by energetically sweeping his fingers on synthetizers and drumcomputers, provides nostalgic reminiscences of the 1980s. Young Monday brings back into fashion a bitchy Italian disco that Vicarious Bliss and Rebotini moved closer to Giorgio Moroder and Depeche Mode. Pregnant with end of the 20th century sounds, this ZAIRE EP borrows the best and sweatiest of dance music. Given the sound quality and the great work on the sound texture, the format that inevitably comes to mind is the vinyl. On we go then! With us Records has decided to launch his first vinyl edition with this crazy release. A tiny production of 100 copies with their homemade silkscreen prints (we’re all about DIY) is offered to those of you who want to bring joy and dance into their homes. And since we are fond of nicely polished results, Benjamin Joubert was chosen to design the vinyl mould while schizophrenic Pierre Human designed the cover and worked on the clip of Zaïre. Yes, we are keen to work with weirdoes… So, on June 20th 2013, brace yourself for an epidemic of a strange disease known as moveyourbody, a strange syndrome getting girls to shimmy endlessly on dancefloors and boys to follow them on a love parade which promises to be Dantesque.
